Nablus: Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out a series of raids and assaults on Tuesday across various areas of occupied West Bank, resulting in injuries and arrests among Palestinian civilians.
According to Qatar News Agency, citing local sources, a Palestinian youth was shot in the thigh with live ammunition during an Israeli raid on the eastern part of Nablus. Clashes erupted during the incursion, with occupation forces firing live bullets and tear gas canisters.
In a related development, Israeli forces detained two Palestinian youths at Beit Furik checkpoint, east of Nablus, blindfolded them, and seized their vehicle. Their identities and the reason for their detention remain unknown.
In the city of Tubas, occupation forces arrested a young Palestinian after summoning him for interrogation at Salem military camp in the northern West Bank.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers attacked several Palestinians in the village of Kisan, east of Bethlehem, injuring some with bruises and wounds. They also seized a herd of sheep belonging to a local resident who was severely beaten. Others sustained injuries while trying to fend off the settlers.
These attacks are part of a systematic escalation by Israeli forces, who conduct near-daily armed raids across towns, cities, and refugee camps in occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, often accompanied by violent arrests, harassment, and the use of live fire, rubber bullets, and tear gas against Palestinians.
This surge in violence is seen as part of a broader campaign of collective punishment and organized intimidation, which has intensified significantly since the start of the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, deepening the cycle of violence and oppression against Palestinian people, according to both Palestinian and UN reports.
