The Federation of Turkish Food and Beverage Industry Associations announced today, Monday that Iraq came as the largest importer of foodstuffs from Turkey in the first half of the current year 2023.
It said in a statement: The value of the Turkish Association’s food exports amounted to a total of 12.23 billion dollars, 12.46 billion dollars of which were in the first six months of 2023, noting that “”Flour was the first product to be exported by the sector, with revenues amounting to 683 million dollars, followed by sunflower oil with a value of 494 million dollars, and hazelnuts with a value of 456 million dollars.”
It added, “Iraq was the largest export market for the sector, as revenues from shipments amounted to 1.4 billion dollars. Germany came second with revenues of 889 million dollars, Russia came third with revenues of 884 million dollars, then the United States of America came forth with revenues of 825 million dollars, and Italy came fifth with revenues of 401 million dollars.”
