Iraq Launches Security Operation to Track Down ISIS Cells in Diyala

The Iraqi security forces announced Saturday the launch of a 3-axe security operation in Diyala Governorate, northern Iraq.

The combat units of the supporting security forces launched from three main axes a security operation to track down ISIS cells.

The security operation aims to sweep large agricultural areas up to 16 km while securing the advanced points.

In the same context, Iraq’s Federal Intelligence Investigation Agency published the security report for March 16-23.

The agency stated that its units arrested 81 militants and 814 accused according to various legal articles, 389 drug dealers, seized large quantities of narcotic pills, 59 tons of smuggled medicines, destroyed 14 ISIS dens, 18 explosive devices, and seized 224 weapons.
