The Ministry of Interior announced that it had received three kidnapped Iraqis from the Iranian side.
The ministry said in a statement, according to international agreements and joint security work, the Iraqi security forces received three Iraqi citizens from the Iranian authorities who were kidnapped in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It added, that this comes through efforts and follow-up by the competent authorities that culminated in their release and handing them over to their families, who are from the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar and Wasit, as the matter was presented to the judge, who directed the registration of duly suit.
Yesterday evening, Monday, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, announced the release of 3 Iraqis kidnapped in Iran.
Al-Sahhaf said in a statement: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has followed up through its embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Ahwaz during the past days, and in coordination with the relevant authorities in Iran, the issue of the three kidnapped Iraqis,” noting that “efforts and follow-ups culminated in their release and handing them over to their families.
He added, “The ministry thanks the efforts and follow-up of the relevant security services in Iraq.”
