Israeli occupation forces continued to close all entrances to Jericho for the second consecutive day, in continuation of the approach of restricting Palestinians, and preventing them from freedom of movement, amid strict measures.
The residents stated, that the occupation soldiers set up military checkpoints at all entrances to Jericho, and impeded the movement of citizens, while the southern entrance to the city witnessed, Sunday morning, confrontations during which the Israeli army fired tear gas at demonstrators and vehicles, which caused a number of suffocation cases.
They also mentioned that Jericho is witnessing traffic crises at all its entrances, as a result of the influx of thousands of citizens to the city, which is considered a summer resort and a place of entertainment for the people of the West Bank, Jerusalem and the occupied territories during the holidays.
Two days ago, the occupation authorities took strict measures to prevent the people of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem from entering Jericho during Eid Al-Fitr holiday, under flimsy security pretexts. (QNA)
