Gaza: The Israeli occupation forces have decimated over 85 percent of the northern Gaza Strip after carrying out nearly 1,500 air raids and firing thousands of artillery shells, which have devastated homes and infrastructure. For the 59th day, the Israeli entity has been imposing siege and starvation on northern Gaza amid intense artillery and aerial shelling, in addition to entirely separating the northern governorate from Gaza, as the images coming from besieged areas clearly reveal the mass devastation inflicted upon homes and utilities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the statistics reveal that the number of martyrs in the northern governorate since the onset of the aggression on Oct. 5 has surged to nearly 2,700 fatalities and 10,000 injuries, most of which are above moderate to critical injuries. The occupying forces have detained 1,200 Palestinians from northern Gaza and forced most of the population into displacement towards Gaza city, fleeing from the intense shelling and airstrikes, as well as hunger, lack of supplies, and shortage of medicines that are ravaging the northern region of the Gaza Strip.
The statistics reveal that the occupying forces have destroyed more than 20 shelters designated for displaced persons within the Jabalia refugee camp, most of which are operated by UNRWA, along with three additional centers in the town of Beit Hanoun, and approximately 10 centers in Beit Lahia project and town. Approximately 75,000 people are living in dire and catastrophic conditions in northern Gaza due to the imposed siege preventin
g the entry of food, clean water, and other essentials, thereby putting their lives at imminent risk due to the ongoing Israeli offensive.
The operation of the Civil Defense has been forcibly put to a halt for nearly 42 days across all areas of the northern Gaza Strip due to the relentless Israeli targeting and offensive, leaving thousands without humanitarian or medical care. Since Oct. 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging a blood-soaked war that has led to 150 martyrs and wounded, mostly women and children, and over 10,000 missing people.
