Jordanian Foreign Minister Urges Global Support for Gaza Amid Israeli Attacks

Amman: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi stressed Friday that the unequivocal condemnation by the foreign ministers of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain of the recent Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, and the announcement of the establishment of a permanent presence in Gaza City, must be supported by all members of the international community who believe in international law and human rights.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Safadi emphasized in a post on the X platform that the impunity with which Israel is practicing this disregard for international law cannot continue, stressing that the starvation of Palestinians requires effective international action to stop it. He said that the Israeli entity will not end its brutal massacres in Gaza and its settlements in the West Bank unless it faces consequences.

He also stated that it would escalate its plans to destabilize Syria and Lebanon, harming regional and global security, unless it faces consequences. He described the Israeli occupation’s ideology as “racist” and “inhumane” and that the world must not tolerate it.

He noted the suffering of one million people in Gaza City from the famine caused by the occupation, in addition to the destruction of the livelihoods of another 1.3 million Palestinians in the Strip. He emphasized that Benjamin Netanyahu is obstructing the ceasefire agreement on the table due to his lack of desire for peace, “a reality that the international community can no longer ignore.”

The Jordanian Foreign Minister called on the world to adopt the position of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, and others who stand for peace and justice, and to act immediately to stop further massacres of innocent Palestinians.
