King Abdullah II of Jordan discussed Tuesday with Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom the latest developments in the region and the grave situation in Gaza. King Abdullah II stressed the necessity of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the importance of the international community assuming its responsibilities to intensify a sustainable and unhindered humanitarian aid delivery into Gaza. He reiterated the need to continue supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), to enable it to carry out its vital role in accordance with its UN mandate, especially in light of the tragic humanitarian situation that Gaza is witnessing.
