Katara’s Ramadan Activities – Window on Heritage, Creativity

In its Ramadan activities, the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara is keen to consolidate the presence of the most prominent customs and traditions associated with the blessed month of Ramadan. In the southern side of Katara, the Iftar cannon spreads joy amongst visitors, who come early before sunset, accompanying their children to watch one of the most prominent Ramadan traditions.

While Katara’s various activities continue, the Katara Ramadan Chess Tournament will be launched on Thursday (tomorrow) in building 15. The Arab Postal Stamp Museum competition will start after Taraweeh prayer in building 22, where an explanation will be given to the contestants about one of the postal stamps, the country and the date of issue, and the contestants must find the stamp from among the collection in the museum’s showroom in building 22. The competition allocates a financial prize of QR 1,000 for each winner per week, and it is available for all age groups.

Katara is keen to attract the public, especially children, through the Storyteller’s Stories event, which it organizes every Thursday, Friday and Saturday of every week from 21:00 to 23:00 in Creativity Square located between buildings 15 and 18.

Through its activities, Katara seeks to provide special Ramadan atmosphere that combines culture, entertainment and recreation, and brings joy and happiness to the souls of all visitors of all ages and interests.
