Kirkuk Provincial Council member for the Arab component, Raad Saleh Al-Jubouri, said that Kirkuk Governor Ribwar Taha will leave his post at the end of 2025, and the position will be handed over to a governor from the Turkmen component for a year, then an Arab candidate will assume the position of governor until the end of the electoral session in late 2027, stressing that the parties that attended the governor election session are committed to this agreement. He expressed his surprise at the Turkmen component's objection to the results of the session "although they were part of the position rotation agreement" that will include the positions of the governor, his two deputies, the council chairman and his two deputies. He said that the understanding with the Kurdistan Democratic Party also stipulated that the position of governor be granted to the Kurds first. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
