Doha: Kuwait’s inflation rate experienced a year-on-year increase of 2.39 percent at the end of August, as reported by data from the Central Statistical Bureau of Kuwait. The consumer price index (CPI), which serves as a measure of inflation, showed this significant rise.
According to Qatar News Agency, the inflation rate in Kuwait also saw a month-on-month increase of 0.07 percent in August compared to July. The Central Statistical Bureau of Kuwait released a statement on Sunday that highlighted the contributing factors to the year-on-year inflation increase. The rise was notably due to price hikes in essential categories influencing the CPI, such as food, Healthcare, clothing, and education. However, transportation costs were excluded from this increase.
