Lebanon Lodges Complaint with UNSC Following Abduction of Lebanese in Israeli Landing Operation.

Beirut: The Israeli occupation army conducted a landing operation, on Friday, in Batroun, the coastal city in northern Lebanon, and abducted a Lebanese citizen, moving him to an unknown location, Lebanese media reported. Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced that he is following-up on the abduction of the Lebanese citizen Imad Amhaz from Batroun area.

According to Qatar News Agency, Mikati spoke by phone with Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Joseph Aoun during which he was briefed on the ongoing investigations into this case, a statement from the office of the Lebanese Prime Minister reported. Additionally, Mikati spoke by phone with the UNIFIL command which affirmed that it is conducting essential investigations into this matter.

Meanwhile, Mikati asked the Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Rashid Bou Habib to lodge an urgent complaint with the United Nations Security Council in this regard, stressing the importance of accelerating the investigations to reveal the facts an
d putting things into perspective.
