Liverpool: Liverpool Football Club announced on Saturday that it has extended the contract of Dutch forward Cody Gakpo with a new long-term deal.
According to Qatar News Agency, the club revealed on its official website that the extension for the 26-year-old player is part of its strategy to retain key talent, though it did not disclose the contract’s length or financial details.
Gakpo, who joined Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in 2023, has made 131 appearances for the club, scoring 42 goals and providing 16 assists. He has played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s recent successes, including winning the Premier League and the League Cup.
Internationally, Gakpo has represented the Netherlands in 40 matches.
Liverpool is set to face Arsenal on Sunday in an early-season showdown in the third round of the Premier League.
