Doha: The Department of Meteorology has warned of thundery rain accompanied by strong winds inshore, and thunderstorms offshore with reduced horizontal visibility at first, along with strong winds and high seas.
According to Qatar News Agency, the department's daily weather report indicates that inshore conditions until 6:00 pm on Friday will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of scattered rain that may be thundery at first, becoming partly cloudy later.
Offshore, the weather will be cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, which may be thundery at first, becoming partly cloudy later. Inshore winds will be northwesterly at 8-16 knots (KT), gusting up to 25 KT during thundery conditions at first. Offshore, winds will be southeasterly to southwesterly at 10-20 KT, with gusts reaching up to 41 KT at times, shifting northwesterly later.
Sea conditions inshore will range between 2 and 4 feet, rising to 5 feet at times, while offshore seas will range from 3 to 6 feet, surging to as high as 14 feet at times. Visibility inshore is expected to range between 5 and 10 km, dropping to 3 km or less during thundery rain at first. Offshore visibility will range between 4 and 9 km, decreasing to 1 km or less during thundery conditions initially.
