Meteorology Warns of Poor Visibility Due to Fog in Inshore and Offshore Areas

Doha: The Meteorology Department has warned of poor horizontal visibility across most inshore areas initially, and at times in some offshore areas, due to fog.

According to Qatar News Agency, the department's daily weather report indicates that inshore conditions until 6:00 p.m. on Monday will be light fog to fog in most areas initially, with moderate temperatures during the daytime and occasional clouds, becoming relatively cool at night with suspended dust and a chance of light fog. Offshore conditions are forecast to be light fog to fog in most areas initially, accompanied by partly cloudy skies.

Inshore winds will be variable at first, becoming northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds ranging from 3 to 12 knots. Offshore winds will also be variable, mainly northwesterly, at speeds of 2 to 12 knots. Visibility inshore will range between 4 and 9 kilometers, dropping to 1 kilometer or less in some areas initially. Offshore visibility will range between 4 and 9 kilometers, occasionally decreasing to 1 kilometer in some areas.

Sea conditions inshore are expected to range from 1 to 2 feet, while offshore waves will be between 1 and 3 feet. The highest expected temperature in Doha is 27 degrees Celsius.
