Kirkuk Minister of Justice Dr. Khaled Shawani congratulated the press family on its National Day.

He said in the congratulatory telegram: We extend our warmest congratulations and blessings to the press family on the occasion of the National Day of the Iraqi Press, and we must recall the great role of the martyrs of the free word who sacrificed their lives in order to convey the truth.

He added: On this occasion, we affirm our firm position in supporting the press and journalists and our full commitment to the principles of press freedom and working to create an environment of absolute freedom for journalistic work, in appreciation of the pivotal role of journalists in supporting the government’s renaissance project and building a promising future in Iraq.
