Ministry of Interior: Qatar, US to Launch ESTA for Visa-Free Travel on Friday.

Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) of Qatar, in conjunction with the US Department of Homeland Security and US Customs and Border Protection, announced the launch of the Electronic Travel Authorization System (ESTA) set for Friday. This initiative marks a significant milestone in facilitating visa-free travel for Qatari passport holders to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

According to Qatar News Agency, ESTA will allow nationals from participating countries to enter the US for up to 90 days without a visa, provided they meet specific criteria. The program, which includes Qatar as the first regional participant since September 2024, enhances travel opportunities for citizens of both countries. With the activation of ESTA both online and via a mobile app, Qataris intending to visit the US can begin their applications. The process involves completing a form 72 hours before departure and fulfilling identification and travel documentation requirements.
