Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) organized an orientation meeting on Tuesday for new scholarship students who are enrolled in universities at Education City, as well as institutions in the United States and Canada, for the 2025-2026 academic year. This meeting was aimed at familiarizing students with the academic requirements and ensuring they gain optimal benefits from their scholarship experiences.
According to Qatar News Agency, Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at MOEHE, Noora Al Ansari, emphasized the significance of the orientation meeting in establishing communication with students studying abroad. She highlighted the importance of providing the necessary support to students by introducing them to scholarship procedures and clarifying their rights and responsibilities. Al Ansari noted that the success of the students reflects the success of MOEHE, and that the relationship between the Ministry and the students is based on a clear contract outlining mutual obligations.
Cultural Attache at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United States, Nasser Mohammed Al Nuaimi, pointed out that scholarships go beyond just obtaining an academic degree. They represent a unique experience that enriches the student’s personality and broadens their horizons by exposing them to different educational and cultural environments.
Ivan David, Head of Public Affairs at the Embassy of the United States in Qatar, provided an introductory presentation on studying in America. His presentation covered travel procedures, adjusting to university life, and student support services. He also offered key tips and best practices for achieving success during the scholarship period.
Aisha Al Mohannadi, Director of the Education City Scholarship Program at MOEHE, discussed the procedures for activating the scholarship. This includes reading and signing the contract by the student, as well as the academic follow-up mechanism implemented by the Scholarships Department during the study period. She also highlighted the financial benefits of the program and the regulations for both internal and external scholarships.
