Russias Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that Ukraine’s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is “absolutely unacceptable for Russia”.

“Ukraines membership in NATO in any territorial layout is absolutely unacceptable for Russia and cannot be part of any peace plans or mediatory initiatives,” Nebenzya added.

Russias Permanent Representative said that his country is ready to develop good-neighborly relations with neutral and non-aligned Ukraine, as stated in its constitution and stipulated in Russian-Ukrainian agreements before 2014.

He pointed out that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s plan does not hint at a long-term solution to the conflict
