Government Policy

The Yazidi MP of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Sharif Suleiman, affirmed: Iraq’s budgets throughout the previous period begin with a deficit and end with a surplus.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: Parliament, with its committees and political blocs, will try in various ways to reduce the budget deficit, which does not constitute a great danger.

Suleiman added: The deficit can be remedied through the rise in the price of oil, indicating that all allocations for the current year will be transferred to the next two years, and this will pave the way for governmental and parliamentary control over the deficit.

Parliament committees are still in continuous discussions and hosting ministers and governors in order to reach an appropriate formula for approving a general budget for the state for three years.
