The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert, stressed the need to involve young people in many other issues pivotal to the future of this country.

In a statement on the occasion of International Youth Day 2023, she said: “Youth make up 60 percent of the population of Iraq.. The need to involve them in a green Iraq, and many other issues central to the future of this country, is quite clear, whether my generation –fellows like it or not: young people will, very soon, be leading the way, and their voices must be heard.”
