Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, who is visiting Islamabad, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation particularly in the areas of trade, energy, connectivity, and people-to-people contacts. During their meeting, the two leaders agreed to elevate existing bilateral relations to broader horizons by strengthening cooperation in several areas. They witnessed the signing of 15 agreements between the two countries in sectors including energy, mining, trade, agriculture, culture, health, tourism, and regional connectivity.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sharif emphasized that his country attaches great importance to its relations with Kyrgyzstan, expressing its keenness to further enhance bilateral ties in all areas of mutual benefit. For his part, the Kyrgyz President described Pakistan as an important partner for his country, praising its development, economic growth, and ambitious infrastructure projects, which reinforces the two countries’ desire to elevate their relations to broader horizons.
