Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed that implementing the two-state solution is essential to ensuring lasting peace in the Middle East, welcoming US President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sharif said via X platform that “durable peace between the Palestinian people and Israel would be essential in bringing political stability and economic growth to the region.” He emphasized the necessity of addressing this issue to foster a stable environment conducive to development.
Sharif expressed his belief that President Trump is prepared to assist in making the understanding between the conflicting parties a reality. He highlighted the importance of the US President’s involvement and readiness to contribute to resolving the conflict.
Additionally, the Pakistani Prime Minister praised the efforts of the US President’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, acknowledging the role played in working towards ending the war in Gaza. Sharif’s comments reflect a commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at establishing peace in the region.
