Doha: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday discussed in a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, southern Lebanon, and the Middle East region.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, the two sides discussed the ongoing Israeli aggression against the West Bank, the genocidal war on Gaza, the killing of tens of thousands of civilians, and Israel’s deliberate strategy of starvation that has pushed the Strip towards famine. They stressed the need for international intervention to halt the Israeli escalation in the region, given its repercussions for regional security and peace.
