Parliamentary Integrity Committee Directs Questions To The Foreign Ministry Regarding Kuwait’s Encroachment Of Iraqi Lands, Waters And Wealth

The head of the Parliamentary Rights Bloc, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, MP Saud Al-Saadi, directed today, Wednesday, parliamentary questions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Kuwait’s encroachment on Iraqi lands, waters and wealth.

Al-Saadi said in a statement addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “What is the number of cases of encroachments by Kuwait on Iraqi lands and waters for the period from the date of issuance of Security Council Resolution No. (2621) on February 22, 2022?”

He asked about “the number of oil wells located within the Iraqi borders or within the economic zone that Kuwait has encroached on and the measures taken by you?”

Al-Saadi added, “Did the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conclude an agreement with Kuwait regarding the optimal use of the oil fields shared between the two parties and the sharing of revenues?”

He continued, “What are the measures taken by the Foreign Ministry and by Diwani Order Committee regarding the delineation of the territorial waters between the two countries?”, adding, “What is the percentage of completion to date above, and have the requirements of the agreed maps been completed?”.
