PHCC Laboratories Receive College of American Pathologists Accreditation for Third Time

Doha: All Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) laboratories have received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for the third consecutive time, following the completion of a series of rigorous inspections conducted as part of the college’s accreditation program.

According to Qatar News Agency, PHCC’s Managing Director Dr. Mariam Ali Abdulmalik stated in a press statement today that this achievement included the re-accreditation of 28 existing laboratories, in addition to the accreditation of three new laboratories in Al Sadd, Al Mashaf, and Umm Al Seneem centers. She explained that the accreditation was achieved without any observations or deficiencies being recorded at any of the sites, which is a rare and distinctive testament to the operational excellence and high quality of the PHCC’s laboratories.

Dr. Mariam Ali Abdulmalik noted that the PHCC currently has the largest network of laboratories accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) outside the US, joining a global elite of over 8,000 laboratories worldwide. She pointed out that the CAP accreditation program aims to ensure the highest standards of quality and patient safety in laboratory services. The evaluation includes a comprehensive review of quality control procedures, staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety systems, and general management.

Dr. Abdulmalik also highlighted that this achievement reflects the corporation’s deep commitment to providing the highest levels of quality, accuracy, and safety in diagnostic services, in accordance with the best international standards and practices.
