The preparatory meetings for the 112th Ministerial Session of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League are due to kick off on Sunday at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo in preparation for the council’s meetings scheduled for Thursday.

Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazala outlined that the social committee would hold a meeting on Sunday to discuss and prepare the social files in the agenda of the aforementioned ministerial session. She pointed out that the agenda consists of seven items, including a report of the Secretary-General of Arab League on following up on the implementation of the decisions of the previous session of economic and social council.

Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the Arab League Ambassador Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki said the economic committee will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss and prepare the economic files in the agenda of the ministerial session of the council, in addition to the economic files of the ordinary Arab summit and Arab development summit, adding that the agenda also includes an item on supporting the Palestinian economy.
