Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with HE Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic Dr. Nawaf Salam, who is visiting the country. The meeting focused on exploring avenues to bolster cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the sectors of energy, transportation, and culture. Additionally, discussions included the reconstruction efforts in southern Lebanon and support for the Lebanese army. Both leaders emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomatic efforts to enhance regional and international security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese Prime Minister expressed a strong condemnation of the Iranian missile attack on Qatar’s Al-Udeid Air Base. He highlighted that such actions are a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as a breach of international law and the United Nations Charter. Dr. Nawaf Salam underscored the urgency of de-escalating tensions in the region to ensure security on both a regional and international level.
