Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the Vostochny space base in Vladivostok, east of the country, on Wednesday, in preparation for his meeting with Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Kim Jong Un also arrived by train at the railway station at the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
Putin met with Kim Jong Un, and the reception was held at the main entrance of the launch vehicle assembly and testing building.
Kim Jong Un thanked Putin for inviting him to visit Russia, "despite his busy schedule."
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced yesterday, Tuesday, that his visit to Russia expresses the utmost importance that Pyongyang attaches to relations with Moscow.
"That's why we came to the Vostochny cosmodrome," Putin said in response to a question about whether Russia would help North Korea build satellites.
The Russian President pointed out that "the Korean leader shows great interest in missile technology, and they are also trying to develop in the field of space."
