Doha: The State of Qatar and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay have formalized an agreement aimed at eliminating double taxation on income and preventing tax evasion and avoidance. This significant step was marked by the signing of the agreement between HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Mario Lubetkin.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement is expected to bolster international standards of transparency through the exchange of documented financial information. HE the Minister of Finance highlighted that this move is set to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Qatar and Uruguay, creating a framework for tax treaties that eradicate all forms of double taxation.
Furthermore, the agreement aims to prevent tax evasion, ensuring fairness and equal treatment for individuals in both nations. It is also anticipated to enhance trade cooperation and open up investment opportunities for both governments and their citizens.
