Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan.
According to Qatar News Agency, after the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi announced that the Cabinet approved a draft resolution by the Minister of Finance to amend exemption limits for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. This measure aims to encourage these enterprises to participate in government tenders, enhancing competitiveness and diversifying the contractor base, in line with national strategies to empower the private sector and increase its economic contribution.
The Cabinet also decided to take steps to ratify an agreement on the promotion and protection of mutual investments with the Dominican Republic. Additionally, Qatar’s membership in the WorldSkills Asia Organization was approved, along with a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kuwait on development planning and a draft railway link agreement with Saudi Arabia. An MoU for political consultations with Bosnia and Herzegovina was also sanctioned.
Further agreements included a mutual visa exemption for ordinary passport holders between Qatar and Paraguay, a mutual investment promotion and protection agreement with Hong Kong, and a cooperation MoU on museums between Qatar Museums Authority and China’s Cultural Heritage Administration of Sichuan Province.
The meeting concluded with the Cabinet reviewing reports on its work from August 2024 to July 2025, the outcomes of the 113th session of the International Labour Conference, and the 78th session of the World Health Assembly, taking appropriate decisions based on these reports.
