Qatar Chamber Explores Formation of European Chamber of Commerce

Doha: Qatar Chamber (QC) engaged in discussions concerning economic and commercial relations with the European Union (EU) during a meeting between QC Acting Director General Ali Bu Sharbak Al Mansori and HE Timo Hammaren, the Head of the EU Trade and Economic Affairs Department for Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman.

According to Qatar News Agency, the EU official proposed the creation of a European Chamber of Commerce in Qatar to boost bilateral cooperation. This proposed body aims to connect Qatari companies with their European counterparts, thereby enhancing trade and investment, especially in light of the ongoing GCC-EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations.

HE Timo Hammaren also encouraged Qatari companies to utilize the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). This global platform is crucial for businesses seeking to establish international connections, identify European partners, and efficiently market their products for export.

Al Mansori expressed appreciation for the robust relations shared between the two sides, particularly in economic and trade domains. He emphasized the Chamber's strong connections with EU counterparts and the Arab-EU joint chambers.
