Kabul: Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health to construct a modern 400-bed hospital for women and children, funded by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD).
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was signed during an official ceremony held at the Ministry’s headquarters. The event was attended by Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, and the Acting Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kabul, Mirdef bin Ali Al Qashouti. Representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) were also present.
On behalf of Qatar Charity, the MoU was signed by Director of QC’s office in Afghanistan, Munim Shah. Dr. Muhammad Hassan Ghayasi, Deputy Minister of Afghan Public Health, signed on behalf of the Afghan side. The agreement aims to establish a specialized hospital in Kandahar, focusing on healthcare services for mothers and children, as well as internal medicine.
