Qatar Engages in GCC Cultural Ministers’ Assembly in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The State of Qatar participated Thursday in the meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Culture of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, held in the State of Kuwait. On behalf of HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, the State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture Dr. Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Ali.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Information and Culture of the State of Kuwait Abdulrahman bin Baddah Al Mutairi welcomed Their Highnesses and Excellencies, the heads of delegations, and the attendees, emphasizing the importance of continuing and strengthening GCC cultural cooperation in various fields.

HE GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed the keenness of the General Secretariat of the Council to activate joint cultural work through initiatives and programs that contribute to strengthening the Gulf identity and consolidating cultural integration. He then reviewed the draft agenda previously submitted by Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Culture. All of its recommendations were approved.

Following the meeting, Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers and heads of delegations participated in a ceremony honoring GCC innovators, during which two innovators from each GCC state were honored. Abdulrahman Al Mannai and Dr. Ahmed Abdulmalik, from the State of Qatar, were honored in recognition of their contributions to the Qatari and GCC cultural landscape.
