Qatar Engages in GCC Meeting to Boost Electricity and Water Cooperation

Kuwait city: The State of Qatar took part in the 31st preparatory meeting of the Electricity and Water Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted in Kuwait. The gathering focused on enhancing collaboration among Gulf nations in the electricity and water sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE President of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) Eng. Abdulla bin Ali Al Theyab. The participants discussed strategies to improve Gulf integration in these sectors, reviewed progress on electricity and water interconnection projects, and explored support mechanisms for energy efficiency and demand management programs. The meeting also addressed governance frameworks and monitoring mechanisms for joint projects.

HE Eng. Abdulla bin Ali Al Theyab reiterated Qatar’s commitment to collaborating with fellow GCC countries to develop a comprehensive Gulf infrastructure. This infrastructure aims to ensure the security and sustainability of supply while supporting the transition to clean energy.
