Qatar Engages in Global Dialogue on Regulating Private Tutoring at UNESCO Forum.

Paris: The State of Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) took part in the International Policy Forum on Private Supplementary Tutoring held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France. This gathering brought together experts and policymakers from various countries to explore the dimensions and effects of private supplementary tutoring and to propose recommendations for developing relevant policies and procedures.

According to Qatar News Agency, Eman Ali Al Nuaimi, Director of Educational Services Centers at MOEHE, presented Qatar’s experience in managing and regulating supplementary tutoring services. Al Nuaimi outlined the efforts by MOEHE to standardize these services through 64 support centers, emphasizing supervision and monitoring to maintain quality for students and teachers. Additionally, she introduced an initiative aimed at unifying tutoring fees to alleviate financial pressures on parents.

Participants at the forum commended Qatar’s proactive measures in addressing the challe
nges of shadow education. They recognized the country’s strategic approach in leveraging opportunities to enhance student learning, underscoring the significance of Qatar’s contributions to the global conversation on private tutoring.
