Cairo: The State of Qatar participated in a joint workshop between the Legal Affairs Sector of the Arab League and the European Union Agency for Cooperation in Criminal Justice (EUROJUST), which began Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar was represented at the two-day workshop by a delegation from the Ministry of Justice. The event also saw participation from representatives of Arab ministries of justice, officials from EUROJUST, and members of the CT JUST project, which is funded by the European Union and focuses on combating terrorism and enhancing criminal justice.
The workshop was organized with the aim of bolstering cooperation between the European Union and the Arab League. It sought to address challenges within the realm of criminal justice and judicial work, fostering dialogue and partnership across these entities.
The agenda for the workshop featured a range of topics, including the role of EUROJUST, international legal cooperation, and the involvement of liaison judges. Discussions also covered relations with third world countries, the formation of joint investigation teams, and the Arab Judicial Cooperation Network’s efforts in fighting terrorism and organized crime.
