Doha: Qatar Gymnastics Federation President, Ali Al Hitmi praised the Qatar junior national team winning colored medals at the West Asian Gymnastics Championship held in Jordan. Al Hitmi stressed that this success reflects the Federation’s pivotal role in preparing a promising generation of athletes and providing them with the necessary resources to ensure continued excellence both regionally and internationally.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a press statement on Monday, the President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation said that the Junior team’s achievement in Jordan is one of the unique accomplishments that the Federation is proud of. Al Hitmi highlighted the Federation’s role in discovering talents and developing them, in addition to creating an optimal training environment to ensure continued accomplishments.
The President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation underscored the need to enhance cooperation with global expertise to raise competitiveness, and invest in the technical staff and facilities in order to achieve sustainable wins to reflect the progress of Qatari gymnastics. In turn, Secretary General of the Federation Abeer Al Buainain expressed her happiness with team Qatar’s achievements at the West Asian Championship. She noted that they reflect the continuous efforts of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation and its technical staff in preparing young, future talents.
Featuring gymnasts Ahmed Sameer, Omar Al Hefnawi, Yousef Ahmed, and Fares Shadi, the Qatari team won third place and the bronze medal in the team category, along with three individual colored medals won by Ahmed Sameer-one gold and one bronze-and Yousef Ahmed, a silver medal. The team received a warm welcome upon their return to Hamad International Airport today.
