Doha: Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) has successfully concluded its summer training program designed for the children of its employees. The initiative aimed at familiarizing them with the media working environment and enhancing their skills in radio and television.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program took place from August 10 to 13 and began with orientation tours of the Qatar Television facility. Participants had the opportunity to observe live program production and newscasts, followed by hands-on training in television and news presenting. This included preparing news scripts, recording individual segments, and participating in editing sessions.
The program also covered radio broadcasting, offering an orientation tour of Qatar Radio and Quran Radio. Participants learned about the operation of live programs and technical recording tasks. They received training in voice delivery, on-air presentation, news scriptwriting, and recording, culminating in an introduction to the editing process.
At the end of the program, recorded materials were shared with participants and their parents. The events concluded with the distribution of certificates and gifts, acknowledging the participants’ engagement in the training.
Maryam Suwailem, Head of the Training Department at QMC’s Human Resources Division, praised the program’s inaugural run and its significant role in providing students with a comprehensive understanding of media in radio and television. She highlighted the program’s potential for expansion in future summer seasons as part of QMC’s agenda.
The initiative reflects QMC’s commitment to fostering a media culture among young people and offering them opportunities to explore their talents through practical experiences that blend knowledge with training.
