Doha: Deposit rates at the start of the week have been issued by Qatar National Bank (QNB), providing details on interest rates for various currencies over different time periods. The rates, as released on Monday, cover a range of currencies including USD, JPY, CHF, GBP, QAR, SAR, AED, and BHD.
According to Qatar News Agency, the deposit rates for the USD start at 4.36116 for a 1-month tenure and decrease to 3.81440 for 12 months. For the Japanese Yen (JPY), the rates begin at 0.35000 for both 1-month and 2-month periods and increase to 0.65000 for a 12-month term. The Swiss Franc (CHF) sees a negative rate beginning at -0.21000 for 1 month and slightly improving to -0.09000 over a 12-month period.
The British Pound (GBP) starts at a rate of 3.95000 for a 1-month deposit and increases to 4.15000 for a 12-month term. For the Qatari Riyal (QAR), the rates are set at 4.82500 for a 1-month period, with a gradual decrease to 4.42500 for 12 months. The Saudi Riyal (SAR) maintains a fairly steady rate, beginning at 4.90000 for 1 month and reaching 5.05000 over 12 months.
Deposits in the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) start at 2.05000 for 1 month and increase to 3.15000 for a 12-month period, while the Bahraini Dinar (BHD) initiates at 5.30000 for a 1-month deposit, declining to 4.93000 over a 12-month period.
