Abu dhabi: Represented by the Ministry of Transport (MOT), the State of Qatar is participating in the second edition of the Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event, which began on Tuesday, will run through October 2, bringing together multiple transportation and infrastructure organizations, experts, and specialists from around the world.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MOT has set up a booth at the event, featuring mockups and visual presentations on Qatar’s public transportation and railway projects. The booth highlights the country’s land transportation plans and strategies, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs), environmental sustainability solutions, and the plan to fully electrify the public bus fleet by 2030.
Visitors to the MOT booth have the opportunity to steer the Lusail Tram and virtually explore Doha Metro stations and trains using VR technology provided by the Qatar Rail team. The booth has attracted several Arab and GCC ministers, along with a large number of officials, experts, and general visitors, who have shown interest in Qatar’s sustainable public transit model and its achievements in smart infrastructure.
The MOT remains focused on developing an integrated, smart, and sustainable transportation system, contributing to the goals of Qatar’s National Development Strategy 3 (NDS3), the MOT Strategy 2025-2030, and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
