Qatar Tourism, MOI’s Officers Training Institute Collaborate to Launch ‘Ambassadors of Qatar’ Program

Qatar Tourisms Service Excellence Academy and the Ministry of Interior (MoI)’s Officers Training Institute collaborated to create ‘The Ambassadors of Qatar: The Road to Excellence Program’.

The program aims to elevate the visitor experience for tourists entering and exiting Qatar, across all entry points of the country, by enhancing the skills and knowledge of immigration officers.

This first-of-its-kind training program spanned three days and concluded with 20 graduates receiving their completion certificates on October 22 at the Civil Defense Officers Club.

By emphasizing effective communication, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity, the aim is to empower officers to navigate diverse situations with professionalism, empathy and care.

The training program is divided into five modules: Role of Immigration in Travel Experience, Mastering Effective Communication, Pursuit of Excellence, Emotional Intelligence and the final module is the Ambassadors of Qatar.

Commenting on the program, Acting Dir
ector of Tourism Development at Qatar Tourism, Omar Al Jaber, said: “The Ambassadors of Qatar Programme: Road to Excellence is an inspired joint effort between the Qatar Tourism Service Excellence Academy and the Ministry of Interior Training Institute aimed at providing the relevant training to our tourism frontliners, the first people visitors encounter when arriving to Qatar. The role that they play in representing Qatar is essential in maintaining the countrys image to the world.” “At Qatar Tourism we are steadfast in providing service excellence at every touch point in the tourism sector, whether its through our events, our venues and now at our entry ports. We look forward to making this programme bigger with every batch and include more segments from the industry,” he added.

Director of the Police Officers Institute Colonel Nayef Mohammed Al Mannai, said: “This training, conducted in cooperation with Qatar Tourism, included the participation of 20 officers from various departments of the Ministry of I
nterior. The program focused on the skills and knowledge necessary to enhance visitor satisfaction and create a positive impression of the State of Qatar by effectively addressing the needs and challenges that may arise during their duties.
