Doha: The Qatar Chamber (QC) hosted a business delegation from the Federal Republic of Brazil on Tuesday to enhance economic and trade relations between Qatar and Brazil, review the investment climate and opportunities, and highlight key incentives and facilities offered by both sides to promote foreign investment.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari side was chaired by QC Acting Director General Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri, with the attendance of many Qatari businessmen and members of the Brazilian delegation, led by Director of the Invest Parana Giancarlo Rocco, along with HE Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the State of Qatar Marcelo Dantas.
Speaking at the event, Ali Al Mansouri praised the strong bilateral relations between Qatar and Brazil, noting that trade exchange reached nearly QR 1.3 billion in 2024, underscoring Brazil’s significance as a trading partner for Qatar. He highlighted the presence of numerous Qatari investments in Brazil across sectors such as energy, banking, and real estate, while also emphasising the presence of many Brazilian companies in the Qatari market across various fields.
Al Mansouri stressed the QC’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and promoting the establishment of joint projects and trade alliances to support mutual trade and investment. He further invited Brazilian companies to explore the investment opportunities available in Qatar, which offers world-class infrastructure, advanced economic legislation, and an attractive business environment.
For his part, Giancarlo Rocco said that the delegation comprises major investment and business institutions in Parana, along with leading companies, aimed at exploring business opportunities and partnerships with Qatari businessmen. He emphasised that they view Qatar as a regional business hub and a gateway to the region’s markets, expressing strong interest in learning more about investment opportunities in the country. Rocco noted that Parana is one of Brazil’s largest economies, with a GDP of about USD 132.6 billion in 2024.
In turn, HE Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the State of Qatar Marcelo Dantas said that Brazil is keen on strengthening economic relations with Qatar and establishing partnerships with the Qatari private sector. He indicated that Parana is one of Brazil’s fastest-growing states, with a national income comparable to that of several European countries. His Excellency highlighted several sectors in which Qatari investors can engage, including agriculture, food, automotive industries, tourism, hospitality, and others.
