Seoul: The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Korea organized the “Qatar-Korea Trade and Investment Forum” to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The event was held in partnership with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), and included participation from the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar), the Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ), and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Hamar, praised the significant role of Korean institutions, including KITA, in fortifying Qatari-Korean relations. He expressed optimism that the forum would pave the way for new cooperative ventures and increase investment and trade exchanges between the two nations.
Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Dr. Jin Sik Yoon, highlighted the forum as a testament to the successful collaboration between the two countries. He emphasized the robu
st, friendly relations that have been established, which are evident in various sectors such as economy, culture, and sports. Dr. Yoon also acknowledged the substantial involvement of Korean companies in Qatari investment projects and the importance of Qatari liquefied natural gas to Korea’s economic advancement.
The forum featured several presentations on investment opportunities and regulations, foreign investments in Qatar, facilities provided by Invest Qatar, business prospects in free zones, and construction and infrastructure projects in Qatar.
