Qatari-Iraqi Joint Security Committee Convenes for Inaugural Meeting in Baghdad

Baghdad: The Joint Security Committee between the Ministries of Interior of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Iraq held its first meeting in Baghdad from May 5 to 7. The discussions aimed to enhance cooperation and security coordination between the two nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by Major General Khalifa Nasr Al Nasr, Director of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Interior. The Iraqi delegation was chaired by Lieutenant General Ziad Taha Ali, Advisor to the Iraqi Minister of Interior. Both sides reviewed several agenda items and signed the minutes of the meeting, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral security ties.

The Qatari Ministry of Interior delegation also had the opportunity to meet with Iraq’s Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Kamel Al Shammari. Additionally, the delegation visited various security departments within Iraq’s Ministry of Interior to gain insights into their operations and explore further areas of collaboration.
