Qatari Nasser Al Attiyah Retains Lead in World Rally-Raid Championship

Lisbon: Qatari driver Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah maintained his lead in the overall standings of the 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) after finishing fifth in Rally Portugal, the fourth and penultimate round of the global championship.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Attiyah, alongside his Belgian co-driver Fabian Lurquin, piloted their Dacia to complete the race in a total time of 12:37:18 hours. They trailed Brazilian Lucas Moraes, who claimed first place with a total time of 12:13:05 hours, by 24 minutes and 13 seconds. South African Henk Lategan secured second place with a total time of 12:13:58 hours, while Frenchman S©bastien Loeb finished third in 12:23:10 hours.

With the conclusion of the fourth round, Al Attiyah leads the T1 category standings with 140 points. He holds a 9-point advantage over Lategan in second place and a 10-point lead over Moraes, who is third. The final and decisive round is scheduled in Morocco from Oct. 10-17, 2025.

Al Attiyah has won the last three consecutive editions of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) for the 2024 season and is aiming to extend his streak in 2025.
