Doha: In their editorials on Wednesday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the State of Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli attacks on the city of As-Suwayda in the Syrian Arab Republic, considering it a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, international law, and the United Nations Charter, as well as a serious threat to regional security.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper addressed the State of Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli attacks on As-Suwayda, emphasizing Qatar’s full support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and the aspirations of its people to live in dignity. The newspaper explained that HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi’s position on the developments in As-Suwayda affirms Qatar’s firm stance against repeated Israeli aggressions on Syrian territory. These actions, the newspaper noted, are a violation of international law and interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, urging the international community to take a clear stand against these aggressions.

The newspaper concluded by stressing the importance of intensifying efforts in Syria to consolidate civil peace through dialogue and peaceful means, to ensure that the crimes witnessed in As-Suwayda are not repeated.

Similarly, Al-Watan newspaper echoed this sentiment in its editorial. It highlighted Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi’s expression of Qatar’s condemnation of the attacks, reaffirming Qatar’s full support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The editorial argued that Syria’s security and stability are integral to the region’s, and any disturbance will have negative repercussions, necessitating efforts to ensure Syria’s stability, unity, and territorial integrity.

The editorial concluded by noting that the situation in As-Suwayda presents an opportunity for foreign interference, such as the Israeli attacks, which do not serve Syria’s unity or territorial integrity.
