Under the headline “New Horizons,” Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Italy gains significant momentum amid the growing relations between the two countries. It also comes at a very important time, in light of the developments witnessed in the Middle East region.

The visit represented a significant milestone in the path of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, by opening new horizons for developing economic cooperation and building a broader partnership in priority areas for both nations, aligning with their aspirations for sustainable development. Additionally, it served as an opportunity to discuss regional and international issues and exchange views on them, in light of global and regional challenges, the newspaper added.

e to develop and strengthen the strong relations between the two countries in various fields. They also emphasized Qatar and Italy’s commitment to intensifying efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, Al-Watan noted.

The newspaper concluded its editorial by saying that this visit will certainly consolidate strong relations, and constitute an important boost to the ongoing efforts to stop the escalation in the region, which everyone is looking forward to.

In its editorial titled “Qatar and Italy.. Long-term Partnership,” Al Arab newspaper said that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Italian Republic, along with high-level discussions with HE President Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and HE President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, is a reflection of the importance of the bilateral partnership between the two countries. It highlighted the new levels of fruitful cooperation in bilateral relations,
enhancing both countries’ roles in influencing regional and international events.

Qatari investments in Italy, particularly in the sectors of infrastructure, energy and tourism, reflect a long-term vision aimed at achieving sustainable development and strengthening economic ties that contribute to the stability of the entire region. In return, Italian expertise in technology and engineering industries plays a role in developing Qatar’s economy within the framework of its comprehensive national development plans, considering the current challenges facing the Middle East, from armed conflicts to humanitarian crises, the newspaper noted.

Al Arab concluded by saying that the cooperation between Qatar and Italy goes beyond bilateral interests, focusing on supporting peaceful solutions and contributing to regional stability, giving both countries a pivotal role in bridging perspectives and promoting reconciliation efforts.

For its part, The Peninsula newspaper said that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin
Hamad Al-Thani to Italy and HH the Amirs separate official talks with the Italian President and Prime Minister have opened new vistas of enhanced bilateral cooperation strengthening the partnership between two friendly countries.

In its editorial titled ” Partnership strengthened” the newspaper referred to HH the Amir’s official session of talks with President of the Italian Republic, HE Sergio Mattarella, at the Quirinal Presidential Palace. During the session, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries were discussed, as well as ways to support and develop them in various fields.

HH the Amir and Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, HE Giorgia Meloni, also held an official session of talks at Villa Doria Pamphili, in Rome. During the session, they discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and avenues for bolstering them, especially in the areas of economy, investment, energy and defense, the foremost regional and global developments, particularly the situation in
Gaza Strip, the newspaper noted.

At the end of its editorial, The Peninsula referred to the General Manager of Naval Vessels Division at Fincantieri Italy, Dario Deste, one of the largest shipbuilding groups in the world and the first in Europe, as saying that the visit of HH the Amir to Italy will open the door for more joint cooperation between the two countries, including the maritime field.

He said that the cooperation with the Qatari Navy started years ago and that the company is ready to develop that partnership and cooperation further. He stressed that there is a commitment from the Italian government and the Italian Navy in this regard.
