Under the title “Strategic Partnership,” Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial that a strong strategic partnership exists between the State of Qatar and the Federal Republic of Germany at all levels, culminating in over 65 years of trade cooperation and more than 50 years of diplomatic relations, which were established in 1973. The two countries are closely connected through several economic agreements and memorandums of understanding, the most important of which are in the fields of energy, industry, trade, health, culture, sports, solar energy, aviation and air transport, as well as the Agreement on the Protection and Promotion of Mutual Investments. Additionally, there is an agreement to establish a joint committee for trade and economic cooperation, which has organized many conferences and seminars over the past years.
The talks held on Tuesday by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, with HE the German President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier and HE Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany O
laf Scholzthe, reaffirmed the shared desire to develop these relations and push them towards broader horizons, in a way that meets mutual aspirations and achieves further constructive cooperation. This is especially important given the many promising opportunities for commercial cooperation between Qatar and Germany in sectors such as technology, renewable energy and industrial innovation, where the private sector in both countries can benefit from these opportunities to enhance cooperation and increase trade exchange, the newspapers added.
Al-Watan concluded its editorial by saying that the talks addressed the latest developments in regional and international issues of mutual concern, foremost among them the situation in Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Lebanon. They emphasized the need to intensify efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and reach a ceasefire, with Qatar’s efforts in this regard being held in high respect and appreciation.

Alliance and Strategic Partnerships,” Al-Raya newspaper said the Federal Republic of Germany is a strategic ally of the State of Qatar. The relations are historic and deeply rooted and have always been distinguished. Recently, they have gained new momentum, becoming multifaceted strategic cooperation covering all fields. The communication between Doha and Berlin has never ceased, due to high-level bilateral coordination and particularly strong economic, commercial and investment partnerships.
In this context, the newspaper said that the official visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Germany, and his fruitful discussions with the German President and Chancellor, focused on strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in political, economic and commercial fields. His Highness emphasized the commitment of both friendly countries to continuously develop these relations through joint efforts, strategic partnership, and mutual investments on a bilateral level, in line with the interests of b
oth countries and to achieve prosperity and well-being for their peoples.
Al-Raya concluded by affirming that the State of Qatar always seeks to engage with the world and build as many alliances as possible, encouraged by its active diplomacy and foreign policies that promote a culture of peace and dialogue to resolve global crises. Germany, being one of the world’s influential countries, has a genuine desire to strengthen bridges of cooperation with Qatar.
For its part, The Peninsula newspaper affirmed in its editorial that the visit of HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Germany on Tuesday marked a significant milestone in strengthening relations between Qatar and Germany and provided both nations with the opportunity to consolidate their economic and diplomatic cooperation.
In its editorial titled “Strengthening Ties,” the newspaper said that economic collaboration between Qatar and Germany has steadily expanded over the past five decades, driven by strong investments in industries such as automotive,
pharmaceuticals and shipping. Qatari investments in Germany exceeded 25bn and include sectors such as the automotive industry, communications and banking services. HH the Amirs visit will open up further opportunities for cooperation in key sectors such as echnology, manufacturing and energy.
During the official talks session at the Meseberg Palace in Brandenburg HH the Amir and HE the Chancellor of Germany discussed the existing relations between the two countries and ways to develop them across various fields. The session also addressed developments in regional and international issues of common interest, mainly the developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Lebanon, and the need to intensify efforts to reduce escalation in the Middle East and reach a ceasefire, The Peninsula noted.
