Qatari Newspapers highlighted in their editorials Tuesday the successful official talks held by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HE President of the friendly Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, and with HE Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

These talks, the papers said, emphasized the commitment of Qatar’s leadership to advancing bilateral relations to new levels, marking the success of the partnership, noting that the mutual meetings between officials from both countries create a conducive environment for fostering relations, focusing on strengths, and deepening partnerships, as Qatar is recognized as a strategic partner for Italy in the Middle East, particularly in defense, security, energy, trade, investment, culture, education, and development.

The newspapers expressed confidence that the outcomes of HH the Amir’s visit to the Italian Republic, along with the exchange of several memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements between the two governments, herald a new era of strategic
cooperation across all fields.

Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorials that HH the Amir’s official session of talks held yesterday in Rome, especially with HE President of the friendly Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, and with HE Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni represent a new milestone in the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries.

The newspaper noted that the meetings focused on exploring and enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in economics, investment, energy, and defense, alongside talks on pressing regional and international issues, including developments in Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Lebanon. The talks emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

The paper further said that His Highness expressed his desire to develop and strengthen the strong relations between the two countries in various fields, while HE President Mattarella said that he is looking forward
to working together with His Highness to push them to broader levels across various fields. Prime Minister Meloni also hoped that the visit of HH the Amir would strengthen the relations between the two countries and promote them in wide-ranging fields.

Al-Sharq concluded by saying that the outcomes of HH the Amir’s visit to the friendly Italian Republic, including the exchange of several memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements, signal the beginning of a new era of strategic cooperation across all sectors, especially in economics, investment, energy, and defense. Additionally, the two countries aim to boost coordination on regional and international issues, with particular focus on de-escalating tensions in the Middle East and achieving ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Al-Raya daily emphasized that HH the Amir’s state visit to Italy his third since 2016 demonstrates the uniqueness of Qatari-Italian relations, which have grown significantly in recent years. Both Doha and Rome have ali
gned themselves in support of security, peace, and development worldwide, with Italy being an advocate for Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. Both countries also share similar views on regional and global issues.

The newspaper stressed that HH the Amir’s successful talks with the Italian President, the Prime Minister, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic highlight the keenness of Qatar’s leadership to elevate bilateral relations to new levels, culminating in a successful partnership, especially since the mutual meetings between officials from both countries create a fertile environment for the growth of relations, focusing on strengths and deepening partnerships, noting that Qatar is recognized as an important strategic partner for Italy in the Middle East across various sectors, including defense and security, energy, trade, investment, culture, education, and development.

HH the Amor’s talks with the Italian leadership primarily focused on exploring the
prospects for bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them, especially in the fields of economy, investment, energy, and defense. The talks also addressed key regional and international issues, particularly the developments in Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Lebanon, highlighting the necessity of intensifying efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East and achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
